Pogtape ("the app", "we", "us") is a desktop application that lets Twitch clippers record a local DVR buffer of a live stream, create clips, and publish those clips to their own connected social accounts (YouTube, TikTok) and Discord webhooks.
This policy explains what data the app handles. Pogtape runs entirely on your own computer. We do not operate a server and we do not collect, store, or receive any of your personal data.
What the app stores, and where
All data stays on your device:
- Account tokens — when you connect Twitch, YouTube, or TikTok, the OAuth access/refresh tokens returned by those services are stored in your operating system's secure keychain (Keychain on macOS, Credential Manager on Windows, Secret Service on Linux). They are used only to talk to those services on your behalf.
- App settings and library — your streamer list, app preferences, and a record of the clips you create (title, date, duration, thumbnail) are stored in a local configuration file in your user application-data folder.
- Video files — the DVR buffer and exported clips are stored as files on your local disk.
None of this is transmitted to us or to any third party except the services you explicitly connect to and act on (see below).
Data shared with the services you connect
When you choose to perform an action, the app communicates directly with that service's official API using your token:
- Twitch — to read which of your streamers are live (titles, thumbnails, viewer counts) and to access the live stream for local buffering.
- YouTube — only when you upload a clip: the video file and the title, description, tags, and privacy setting you enter.
- TikTok — when you connect, the app requests your basic profile (
user.info.basic, to display your account name) and permission to upload videos (video.upload). When you choose to send a clip, the video file is uploaded to your TikTok inbox as a draft; you finish and publish it from the TikTok app. We do not post on your behalf. - Discord — only when you post a clip to a webhook URL you configured.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data. The app contains no analytics or tracking.
Permissions you can revoke at any time
You can disconnect any account from within the app (which deletes its stored tokens), and you can revoke the app's access directly from your Twitch, Google, or TikTok account security settings.
Children
Pogtape is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction).
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
